Sprite Hunter
Privacy notice
Effective July 20, 2026
Sprite Hunter is a small, non-commercial fan project for tracking a personal Fortnite Sprite collection. This notice explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Information Sprite Hunter uses
When you sign in, Google and Clerk provide the identity information needed to authenticate you. This can include your Google account identifier, verified email address, name, profile image, and session information.
Sprite Hunter stores a Clerk user identifier, your chosen Sprite Hunter display name, and the Sprite entries you mark as Collected. If you use friend features, it also stores pending Friend Invitations, accepted Friend Connections, and the minimum account-deletion state needed to complete a deletion safely.
Sprite Hunter does not duplicate your Google email address in its Neon database. Your email remains with the authentication providers unless a later, separately approved feature genuinely requires a change.
To limit invitation abuse, Sprite Hunter may briefly store a keyed, one-way digest derived from a request address. It does not store the raw address in application storage or logs, and the digest bucket expires within 24 hours.
Why the information is used
The information is used only to sign you in, create and protect your Player Profile, remember your chosen display name and collection, create private invitations, authorize accepted-friend comparisons, limit abuse, troubleshoot failures, and complete account deletion when you request it.
Sprite Hunter does not use your information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or selling personal information.
Services that help run the app
Google provides the sign-in identity. Clerk manages authentication and sessions. Neon hosts Sprite Hunter's application database. Vercel hosts and delivers the application. These providers may process technical, security, request, and account information needed to provide their services.
Cookies and similar storage
Clerk uses cookies and related browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and protect your session. Sprite Hunter does not add advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies.
What other people can see
Before an invitation is accepted, a person holding its private link can see only the inviter's chosen Sprite Hunter display name. The link does not reveal the inviter's profile image, collection, email address, Google name, or internal identifiers.
After both Players accept a Friend Connection, each accepted friend can see the other's chosen Sprite Hunter display name, current Google-authentication profile image when Clerk has one, and Collection Status needed for the read-only comparison. These details are not public and are unavailable when the connection is removed.
Your Google account name, email address, provider tokens, Clerk identifier, and other internal identifiers are not shown to other Players. Each Player can edit only their own Personal Collection.
How long information is kept
Your Player Profile and collection are kept while your Sprite Hunter account exists. A pending Friend Invitation expires after seven days. An accepted Friend Connection remains until either Player removes it or either account is deleted. Identity-free address-digest rate-limit buckets expire within 24 hours.
You can permanently delete your Sprite Hunter account from Settings. Confirmed deletion removes application-owned profile, collection, invitations, Player-owned rate-limit buckets, and every Friend Connection involving you, and begins removal of the Clerk identity. The other Player's profile and collection are not deleted.
Infrastructure-provider backups may retain deleted data temporarily according to their published retention practices. Sprite Hunter does not claim to control or instantly erase those provider backups.
Google access is limited to sign-in
Sprite Hunter requests identity scopes only. It does not request access to Google services such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or Google Photos, and it does not store Google access tokens or refresh tokens.
For an accepted friend only, Sprite Hunter asks Clerk for the current profile-image URL already associated with that authentication identity. The image is resolved on the server after connection authorization and is not copied into the Neon database.
